Washing of Water by the Word

Bathing Vs Cleaning

  • Bathing = Salvation ( Receiving EVERLASTING Righteous )
  • Washing Feet = Cleaning from Day-to-day Dirt

Being Clean

Ephesians 5:26
New King James Version (NKJV)

26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,

John 15:3
New King James Version (NKJV)

You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

Girdle of Righteousness

John 13:1-17
New King James Version (NKJV)

13 Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

And supper being ended, the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him, Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. Then He came to Simon Peter. And Peter said to Him, “Lord, are You washing my feet?”

Jesus answered and said to him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this.”

Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!”

Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.”

Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”

10 Jesus said to him, “He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.” 11 For He knew who would betray Him; therefore He said, “You are not all clean.”

12 So when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? 13 You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.16 Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

Isaiah 11:5
King James Version (KJV)

And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

Revelation 1:13
New King James Version (NKJV)

13 and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band.

With Me

  • Not flowing With me ( With Jesus )
    • Either you are too forward or too backward ( Flesh )
  • This verse is not talking about Salvation ( If its salvation, it should say IN ME )

Don’t trust your Flesh

Flesh is either forward or backward

  • Peter first don’t want to wash his feet
  • Then Peter wants to wash His Feet, Hands

Flesh is Too courageous or Too coward

  • Peter first said, I shall follow you to death
  • Jesus told , you shall betray me 3 times before the cock crows

Confession of Jesus as Lord is more powerful

No More Consciousness of sins Vs Reminder of sins

Two Types of Ministry

Which ministry are you in?

No More Consciousness of sins

Hebrews 10:2
New King James Version (NKJV)

For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins.

Reminder of sins

Hebrews 10:3
New King James Version (NKJV)

But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year.

All Have Sinned

Romans 3:9-26

New King James Version (NKJV)

What then? Are we better than they? Not at all. For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin.

10 As it is written:

“There is none righteous, no, not one;
11 There is none who understands;
There is none who seeks after God.
12 They have all turned aside;
They have together become unprofitable;
There is none who does good, no, not one.”[a]
13 Their throat is an open tomb;
With their tongues they have practiced deceit”; [b]
“The poison of asps is under their lips”; [c]
14 “Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.”[d]
15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16 Destruction and misery are in their ways;
17 And the way of peace they have not known.”[e]
18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”[f]

19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

God’s Righteousness Through Faith

21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all[g] who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Who seeks the truth,
And I will pardon her.

New King James Version (NKJV)

Self Confident is the root of all failure

Self Confident

  • Self Confident is the root of all failure
  • Self Confident is the root of all committed sin
  1. Peter boasted on his Love towards God –> Resulted in cursing and swearing
  2. Israel “All that God command us we can do it” –> Resulted in Gold Calf
  3. Paul had self confident in Romans 7
  • Israel and Peter is a picture of Us

Self Confident of Peter

Jesus didn’t pray that Peter should not fail

  • Jesus prayed that Peter’s faith should not fail

Luke 22:31-34
New King James Version (NKJV)

31 And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

33 But he said to Him, “Lord, I am ready to go with You, both to prison and to death.”

34 Then He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day before you will deny three times that you know Me.”

Jesus prophesied about Peter’s return

Luke 22:31-34
New King James Version (NKJV)

31 And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

Jesus Prophesied Peter’s Vitory

Luke 22:31-34
New King James Version (NKJV)

31 And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

  • Even longer before Peter fall, God prophesied Peter’s Victory
  • Even longer before we fall, God prophesied our Victory

Overall

  1. Failure
  2. Return
  3. Got Stronger
  4. Strengthen Others

Believe also in Me

  • Chapters and numbers in bible are man made

John 13:38-14:1
New King James Version (NKJV)

38 Jesus answered him, “Will you lay down your life for My sake? Most assuredly, I say to you, the rooster shall not crow till you have denied Me three times.

14 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.

  • Believe also in Me that I will never leave you nor forsake you

Self Confident of Israel

Exodus 19:8
New King James Version (NKJV)

Then all the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.” So Moses brought back the words of the people to the Lord.

Exodus 24:3
New King James Version (NKJV)

So Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord and all the judgments. And all the people answered with one voice and said, “All the words which the Lord has said we will do.”

How to overcome Self Confident?

  • Self Confident in our flesh leads to sin

Romans 8:1
New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Deliverance from Bondage

Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:9
New American Standard Bible (NASB)

However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of Goddwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

Are we of less worth now, with No Self Confident?

  • At that instance when we have No Self Confident, Jesus is in full effect
  • We having Jesus Confident
  • We are in Christ Jesus
  • Jesus becomes our Identity
  • Our Worth/Value becomes HIGHEST

Other related verses

As He is, so are we in this world

1 John 4:17

Armor of God

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;”

When you feel you don’t have complete faith

  • Pray “I believe; help my unbelief”

Mark 9:23-27
New King James Version (NKJV)

23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!

25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it: “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!” 26 Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, “He is dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.

If Gods Will is to Heal, Why not all Healed?

First answer this question

If Gods Will is that all to be Saved, Why not all Saved?

2 Peter 3:9

Healing for the Unbelievers

James 5:14-15
New King James Version (NKJV)

14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

For Believers

  • Sins are forgive ( Perfect Tense ) once for an all. The act doesn’t need to be repeated again

For Unbelievers

  • Sins have ( Future Tense ) to be forgiven,

James 5:15 for sick Unbelievers

  • James 5:15 speaks about the healing of Unbelievers, because they are yet to be forgiven.
  • For Believers there would be no sins to be forgiven for, because all their sins where forgiven once and for all, on the same time when they believed that Christ Died for their sins.
