Faith Language

Young’s Literal Translation’s Preface

The Hebrew Language has no Future Tense

..

  1. That the Hebrews were in the habit of using the past tense to express the certainty of an action taking place, even though the action might not really be performed for some time.
  2. That the Hebrews, in referring to events which might be either past or future, were accustomed to act on the principle of transferring themselves mentally to the period and place of the events themselves, and were not content with coldly viewing them as those of a bygone or still coming time; hence the very frequent use of the present tense.

..

Imperfect Faith

Romans 4:1-8
World English Bible (WEB)

What then will we say that Abraham, our forefather, has found according to the flesh? For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not toward God. For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”[a] Now to him who works, the reward is not counted as grace, but as something owed. But to him who doesn’t work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness. Even as David also pronounces blessing on the man to whom God counts righteousness apart from works,

“Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven,
    whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the man whom the Lord will by no means charge with sin.” [b]

God’s ways

Hebrews 3:7-13
World English Bible (WEB)

Therefore, even as the Holy Spirit says,

“Today if you will hear his voice,
don’t harden your hearts, as in the rebellion,
like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness,
where your fathers tested me by proving me,
and saw my deeds for forty years.
10 Therefore I was displeased with that generation,
and said, ‘They always err in their heart,
but they didn’t know my ways;’
11 as I swore in my wrath,
‘They will not enter into my rest.’”

12 Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God; 13 but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called “today”; lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

“My Rest” is the Land

  • It doesn’t say “My Land” because people were walking towards Canaan
  • But for us the land is “My Rest”
  • Land flowing with milk and honey
  • Land with provisions already ready
  • From vineyards you didn’t plan
  • From wells you didn’t dig

It’s the land of Rest

  • Place where you come to rest
  • Even though you didn’t see physically.
  • We thank God because he is fighting our battle.
  • Rest is how you please God

Opposite of God’s wrath

  • My wrath –> My Rest

This is not God’ ways

  • Ways People went through in the wilderness are not God’s ways

What is an evil heart?

  • The heart of unbelief.
  • sin is singular refering to unbelief

Exalt one another daily

Fear to rest

Hebrews 3:17-4:1
World English Bible (WEB)

17 With whom was he displeased forty years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? 18 To whom did he swear that they wouldn’t enter into his rest, but to those who were disobedient? 19 We see that they were not able to enter in because of unbelief.

Let us fear therefore, lest perhaps anyone of you should seem to have come short of a promise of entering into his rest.

  • As per this verse, the world is going to hell because of the unbelief in Christ.
    • Not because doing this, doing that. ..etc.
  • This rest is not about heavenly rest
    • Because heaven doesn’t have this giants
    • and heaven doesn’t have this battle.
    • It’s a land of promise

How to enter rest?

  • Believe

Hebrews 4:1-5
World English Bible (WEB)

Let us fear therefore, lest perhaps anyone of you should seem to have come short of a promise of entering into his rest. For indeed we have had good news preached to us, even as they also did, but the word they heard didn’t profit them, because it wasn’t mixed with faith by those who heard. For we who have believed do enter into that rest, even as he has said, “As I swore in my wrath, they will not enter into my rest”;although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he has said this somewhere about the seventh day, “God rested on the seventh day from all his works”; and in this place again, “They will not enter into my rest.”

Mix with faith

  • God says, “You are healed” because of Jesus
    • Believe
  • God says, “You will have more than enough”
    • Believe
  • God says, “You will be prosperous”
    • Believe
  • God says, “Everything will prosper”
    • Believe
  • God says, “Success”
    • Believe
  • Works were finished from the foundation of the world

Temporary Vs Eternal

  • What we see is temporary
  • What we can’t see is eternal

Hard Vs Easy

Two words with more or less similar

לָ֫חֶם

  1. lechem ( bread, feed )
  2. lacham ( fight )

One dot different

  • lacham ( fight )

Why?

  • When you feed, you fight.
  • Feeding = Fighting
  • We eat God’s word and the enemy is defeated.

Psalm 23:5

in the presence of my enemies.

    My cup runs over.

  • When the symptoms are there , Feed
  • When the problems are there, Feed
  • When the difficulty is there, Feed
  • When the addiction is there, Feed

Fight the good fight of faith

1 Timothy 6:12
World English Bible (WEB)

12 Fight the good(Beautiful, Handsome) fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you confessed the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.

When you are in difficulty

  • Only fight is to stay in faith
  • Fight to remain in faith

During affliction see the invisible

2 Corinthians 4:16-18
World English Bible (WEB)

16 Therefore we don’t faint, but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory;18 while we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Hebrews 11:24-29
World English Bible (WEB)

24 By faith, Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 choosing rather to share ill treatment with God’s people, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a time; 26 accounting the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he looked to the reward. 27 By faith, he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. 28 By faith, he kept the Passover, and the sprinkling of the blood, that the destroyer of the firstborn should not touch them. 29 By faith, they passed through the Red Sea as on dry land. When the Egyptians tried to do so, they were swallowed up.

Unbelief

Numbers 13:23-33
World English Bible (WEB)

23 They came to the valley of Eshcol, and cut down from there a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bore it on a staff between two. They also brought some of the pomegranates and figs. 24 That place was called the valley of Eshcol, because of the cluster which the children of Israel cut down from there. 25 They returned from spying out the land at the end of forty days. 26 They went and came to Moses, to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, to the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word to them and to all the congregation. They showed them the fruit of the land. 27 They told him, and said, “We came to the land where you sent us. Surely it flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. 28 However the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. Moreover, we saw the children of Anak there.29 Amalek dwells in the land of the South. The Hittite, the Jebusite, and the Amorite dwell in the hill country. The Canaanite dwells by the sea, and along the side of the Jordan.”

30 Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it!”

31 But the men who went up with him said, “We aren’t able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.” 32 They brought up an evil report of the land which they had spied out to the children of Israel, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that eats up its inhabitants; and all the people who we saw in it are men of great stature. 33 There we saw the Nephilim,[a] the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim.[b] We were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”

First Ever song in Bible

Exodus 15:12-15
World English Bible (WEB)

12 You stretched out your right hand.
    The earth swallowed them.
13 “You, in your loving kindness, have led the people that you have redeemed.
You have guided them in your strength to your holy habitation.
14 The peoples have heard.
    They tremble.
Pangs have taken hold on the inhabitants of Philistia.
15 Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed.
Trembling takes hold of the mighty men of Moab.
All the inhabitants of Canaan have melted away.

Rahab about the Lord

  • She got saved 40 years before ( while crossing red sea )

Joshua 2:9-11
World English Bible (WEB)

She said to the men, “I know that Yahweh has given you the land, and that the fear of you has fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt away before you. 10 For we have heard how Yahweh dried up the water of the Red Sea before you, when you came out of Egypt; and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites, who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and to Og, whom you utterly destroyed. 11 As soon as we had heard it, our hearts melted, and there wasn’t any more spirit in any man, because of you: for Yahweh your God, he is God in heaven above, and on earth beneath.

Overflowing Blessings

Deuteronomy 6:10-13
World English Bible (WEB)

10 It shall be, when Yahweh your God brings you into the land which he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you, great and goodly cities, which you didn’t build, 11 and houses full of all good things, which you didn’t fill, and cisterns dug out, which you didn’t dig, vineyards and olive trees, which you didn’t plant, and you shall eat and be full; 12 then beware lest you forget Yahweh, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.13 You shall fear Yahweh your God; and you shall serve him, and shall swear by his name.

Miracle of Luxury

  • First miracle of Jesus :Turning water in to wine
  • That shows the heart of Jesus
  • Our blessings are not based on our needs
  • Our blessings are based on our wants

Psalm 23:1
King James Version (KJV)

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Peter’s want

  • No one got healed at this situation
  • No one got delivered from demons
  • But it was a personal want of Peter
  • Personal desire on Peter’s part

Matthew 14:28-29
World English Bible (WEB)

28 Peter answered him and said, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters.”
29 He said, “Come!”
Peter stepped down from the boat, and walked on the waters to come to Jesus.

  • If you have desire to walk in the water, you can walk
  • Peter had desire to walk in the water and he walked.

Take more

  • Believe for no pimple
  • Take more
  • Oh you are little faith means Oh you of little taking
    • Take more from Jesus
  • God will drop on purpose
    • Like Boaz did to Ruth
  • God doesn’t meets your needs according to your needs; He meets your needs according to HIS RICHES.

His Love

  • He loves for you to take
  • He never complained of you taking more
  • He complained only when you take less ( “Oh you of little faith” )

THE LOVE always wants to give

  • THE LOVE will be happy when you receive.

Let no one reproach you

  • Let no one reproach you, keep on taking ( Example situation: Boaz to His workers )
  • Martha was trying to reproach Mary when Mary was trying to take from Jesus ( Mary sitting down, doing nothing, just taking form Jesus )
    • Jesus rebuked Martha
      • “Leave her alone, Mary has chosen the good path”

Basis of Healing

Deuteronomy 28:20-22
World English Bible (WEB)

20 Yahweh will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke, in all that you put your hand to do, until you are destroyed, and until you perish quickly; because of the evil of your doings, by which you have forsaken me. 21 Yahweh will make the pestilence cling to you, until he has consumed you from off the land, where you go in to possess it.22 Yahweh will strike you with consumption, with fever, with inflammation, with fiery heat, with the sword, with blight, and with mildew. They will pursue you until you perish.

Deuteronomy 28:27
World English Bible (WEB)

27 Yahweh will strike you with the boils of Egypt, with the tumors, with the scurvy, and with the itch, of which you can not be healed.

Deuteronomy 28:59-61
World English Bible (WEB)

59 then Yahweh will make your plagues fearful, and the plagues of your offspring,[a] even great plagues, and of long duration, and severe sicknesses, and of long duration. 60 He will bring on you again all the diseases of Egypt, which you were afraid of; and they will cling to you.61 Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, Yahweh will bring them on you, until you are destroyed.

Galatians 3:13-14
World English Bible (WEB)

13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,”[a]14 that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

  • 1500 years = Old covenant Law was active

Jeremiah 31:31-34
World English Bible (WEB)

31 Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke, although I was a husband to them, says Yahweh. 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Yahweh: I will put my law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people:34 and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know Yahweh; for they shall all know me, from their least to their greatest, says Yahweh: for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more.

For New Covenant People, sins and failures are not recorded

  • Hebrew 11, hall of fame, no sins are recorded

Example about Abraham

Romans 4:18-22
World English Bible (WEB)

18 Besides hope, Abraham in hope believed, to the end that he might become a father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken, “So will your offspring[a] be.”[b] 19 Without being weakened in faith, he didn’t consider his own body, already having been worn out, (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 Yet, looking to the promise of God, he didn’t waver through unbelief, but grew strong through faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully assured that what he had promised, he was also able to perform.22 Therefore it also was “credited to him for righteousness.”[c]

15 Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise;16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore don’t be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing, and making melody in your heart to the Lord;20 giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father;

Spiritual Pride

  • Thinking that you could get revelation straight from the bible without the need of a preacher

Romans 10:14-17
World English Bible (WEB)

14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher? 15 And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:

“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Good News of peace,
who bring glad tidings of good things!”[a]

16 But they didn’t all listen to the glad news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”[b] 17 So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Health to their whole body

Proverbs 4:20-22
World English Bible (WEB)

20 My son, attend to my words.
Turn your ear to my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from your eyes.
Keep them in the center of your heart.
22 For they are life to those who find them,
and health to their whole body.

Matthew 13:14-16
World English Bible (WEB)

14 In them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says,

‘By hearing you will hear,
    and will in no way understand;
Seeing you will see,
and will in no way perceive:
15 for this people’s heart has grown callous,
their ears are dull of hearing,
    they have closed their eyes;
or else perhaps they might perceive with their eyes,
    hear with their ears,
    understand with their heart,
and would turn again;
    and I would heal them.’

16 “But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear.

Luke 5:15
World English Bible (WEB)

15 But the report concerning him spread much more, and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.

The joy of the Lord is your strength

  • The joy of you is NOT your strength

Nehemiah 8:10
World English Bible (WEB)

10 Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared; for today is holy to our Lord. Don’t be grieved; for the joy of Yahweh (the Lord ) is your strength.”

What the Lord rejoices in?

Zephaniah 3:17
World English Bible (WEB)

17 Yahweh ( The Lord ), your God, is among you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing.

  • If you know He rejoices over you, you will have strength
  • If you know you are God’s beloved, you will have strength
  • “He is my beloved, in whom I am well pleased” – the Father to the Son Jesus
    • Then the ministry of Jesus got started and Jesus conquered death.
