Roaring of a Lion meaning in Bible

The word “Roaring” shouldn’t frighten you

1 Peter 5:8

Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

  • Don’t think that devil is powerful
  • Devil has no power in and himself
  • Lion’s when they attack their prey, they don’t roar. They will be silent and quite.
  • So Roaring doesn’t represent’s a fearful nature

Roaring means creating a doubt

Psalm 22:13

13 They open their mouths wide against me,
    lions tearing prey and roaring.

  • Roaring is a cunning nature
  • Roaring is to create doubt about God
  • Roaring is to create doubt about God’s goodness
  • Roaring is to create doubt about God’s blessings
  • Roaring is to create doubt about God’s tender mercy
  • Roaring is to create doubt about God’s loving kindness

Devil’s plan of creating doubt on who you are in Christ

  • You are the Righteousness of God in Christ
  • Stay strong on that.
  • Even when you fail, you the Righteousness of God in Christ
    • Because you have received Everlasting Righteousness
      • If the righteousness you have received doesn’t last forever, it is not everlasting in the first place.
    • Because you haven’t received the righteousness by your performance, but you have received the righteousness as a gift ( righteousness by Faith ).
